Club Background

Kuching City Football Club , commonly known as Kuching City FC, is a professional football club based in Kuching, Sarawak, Malaysia. The club represents the capital city of Sarawak, known for its rich cultural heritage and the iconic Sarawak River. Formed with a mission to bring professional-level football to the region and to inspire local talent, Kuching City FC is seen as a beacon for football in Borneo, fostering a community-centered approach that engages fans and promotes sportsmanship.

CLUB HISTORY

Kuching City FC was established in 2015, originally competing as Kuching FA in the Malaysia M3 League, the third tier of Malaysian football. With a commitment to developing local talent and enhancing the sport's presence in Sarawak, the club quickly gained a dedicated following. Kuching FA’s success led to rapid progress, and in 2020, they earned promotion to the Malaysia Premier League (second division) by clinching promotion through their determined performance and resilience. By 2021, the club rebranded as Kuching City FC to reflect its professional ambitions and to better represent the city’s identity on a national level.

In 2022, Kuching City FC reached a historic milestone by earning promotion to the Malaysia Super League, marking their entry into the country’s top-tier football league. This achievement was a testament to the club's growth and ambition, putting Sarawak football firmly on the map.
